Caregiver Stress

During any given year, there are more than 44 million Americans (21% of the adult population) who provide unpaid care to an elderly or disabled person 18 years or older. If you know a caregiver to someone with a severe and persistent mental illness, simply offer to help every now and then. Although you may never hear them complain, I assure you, their burden is not light.  In fact, a caregiver's health is usually at risk since they are the always last on their own priority list.
