According to police, E-911 dispatchers received a call about 9:05 p.m. from the sister of the suspect who indicated her brother was having medical problems. She said he did not want any help and was threatening to shoot anybody who came into the home.
Two officers repeatedly attempted to speak to the suspect and provide assistance, officials said.
Crowe, who was hiding under the bed, fired upon the officers with a revolver as they entered the bedroom, police said.
Neither officer was injured and Maxwell returned fire striking the suspect more than one time, authorities said.
